Lowell & Emilie’s Engagement Session | San Francisco, CA

Emilie and I go way back. . . back in the days when we were pumping our bangs full of Aqua Net and wearing Express shoes from Mervyn’s.  Man, those were the days.  So I was ecstatic to find out that she was, not only getting married, but moving down to San Diego as well.  This girl deserves the best and in Lowell, I realized, that she will finally get the love that she deserves in him.  These two are so dang cute together!  It’s evident in most of the frames as they cracked jokes with one another.  Here are a few shots we did from their session.  Congrats, you two!!

And I can’t forget to mention that hair and make up was done by the uber talented Alpha B. of Sweet Fuss Hair & Artistry.  She’s the bomb!

Johanna’s Maternity Portraits | Benicia Studio

We first met Johanna during E.J. and Beverly’s wedding a few months ago as she was one of the bridesmaids.  She and Gene are expecting their first baby come September and they wanted to take a few maternity portraits before baby Olivia arrived.  (Ironically, we’re naming our little girl Olivia too!)  Here are just a few from the session taken at our Benicia studio.

Goapele Documentary Shoot | Behind The Scenes | The New Parish – Oakland, CA

Thanks to Ankh Marketing and Hip-Hop.com we had the opportunity to capture some still documentary shots of the beautiful and uber talented Goapele at The New Parish in Oakland, CA before her show.  Good peoples and good vibes.  Together with Skyblaze Recordings and Giographix Studios, they have launched her brand new website: www.goapele.com.  Make sure to visit the site to view all the latest news and information about her upcoming album “Milk & Honey”.

So with no further ado, here are a few of our faves of the night.

I have to say that Goapele has the most perfect profile ever.  We couldn’t resist getting some of these shots of her.

Amari took the frame below.   I was really drawn to it and it has to be one of my favorites of the set.

I really loved the shot below too.  Amongst the chaos in the dressing room you see Goapele centering herself, trying to prepare for her performance.  Great mood shoot.

I love how Kamel’s Black Scale shirt frames Goapele‘s hair in the shot below.  Love it!

Here’s a few shots of the crew in a prayer circle right before walking downstairs.  Goapele thanking her band and channeling good vibes for the show.

And of course, a few live still shots of the actual show below.  It’s like capturing an old soul on film.  Classic.

Don’t forget to leave a comment!

Swim Suit Preview | San Francisco, CA

For Father’s Day morning (yes, we worked!) we did a fitness shoot on a secluded San Francisco beach.  I was a little worried that it was going to be way too cold for our client but she was a trooper!  Not only that but can you say. . . HOT!  I told her that she’s my inspiration on getting my body back after this 4th baby.   Her body was bangin!

We can’t divulge too much information on the shoot until after July but here are a few teasers.

It would be a disservice if I failed to mention the hair and make-up artist responsible for the extra beautification of our client.  If you’re looking for someone who is not only extremely professional but a joy to work with, I highly recommend Alpha from Sweet Fuss.  She did an AMAZING job!  Thanks, Alph!
